My participation in the Thrively project was based upon the desire to create a new pathway of how we look at children and their abilities. Kids and parents are easily and often told how their child is not achieving or what is lacking – less time is spent on what kids are actually doing right or what their strengths are. The Thrively project was a ‘no brainer’ for me because of its strength-based focus. To be able to provide not only a profile of a child’s strengths and assets but also a place to access a myriad of exciting resources that build upon those abilities fits well with the idea of helping parents to learn more about their children and then create healthy and reinforcing environments in which their children can thrive.
